April 3rd - 7th , 2019 Azalea Festival: Wilmington, NC

The North Carolina Azalea Festival has been throwing the best party in the south for over 60 years!

The Azalea Festival has several events that cover a period of five days – April 11th – 15th. Events include street fairs, concerts, coin shows, boxing matches, art shows, a parade, a circus, and tours of homes and gardens. The main event of the festival is the garden tour that highlights the Wilmington area’s most beautiful gardens.

The Azalea Festival began in 1948 as an idea of Dr. W. Houston Moore, M.D. Dr. Moore held a meeting in Wilmington’s Chamber of Commerce with leading civil club representatives to discuss and begin planning for the first Azalea Festival. The festival would take place in April 1948 and would serve the purpose of showcasing the beauty of the local gardens such as Airlie Gardens, Orton Gardens, and Greenfield Gardens. The first sidewalk show was also held in 1953 and has continued as a tradition since. For more information, check out their website at

Come to Sunset Beach Park on Sunday April 29, 2018 for a day of wine, brews, food, entertainment, and more.  Fresh local strawberries are the main fare of the day - whether chocolate covered or in short cake or floating in a glass of wine - you'll love them all.  Enjoy delicious BBQ and award winning wines.  Mike's Garage Band will perform from 1 - 5 p.m.

May 16-19, 2019-Wilmington Food & Wine Festival: Wilmington, NC

The 4th Annual Wilmington Wine & Food Festival at Bellamy Mansion in downtown Wilmington, NC features local and statewide culinary masters, special guest chef dinners, bartender challenges, wine and food samplings, live music, and a food truck rodeo with local breweries. July 4th, 2019-Celebrate the Fourth of July at the Old Bridge: Sunset Beach, NC

Start the holiday right with a parade over the Old Bridge!  Beginning at 9:00 a.m. members of the Old Bridge Preservation Society have planned fun and festivities 
for visitors and residents of Sunset Beach.  With patriotic music playing and flags waving at the Old Bridge Museum, 109 Shoreline Drive W, Sunset Beach, there 
are a number of activities planned that are kid-tested and approved. Event's include a Children's parade over the Old Bridge, games and activities, and free refreshments.

October 5, 2019 - 10th Annual Sunset at Sunset: Sunset Beach, NC

Sunset at Sunset is the town of Sunset Beach's Community Block Party!  More than 100 vendors, crafters, food-services, and non-profit organizations participate in the days events. Throughout the day, high quality bands entertain as attendees browse the vendors. A photography contest is held each year, and a 5K Walk/Run over the Mannon C. Gore Bridge is the highlight of the day. For more information go to

October 19 & 20, 2019 - 37th Annual NC Oyster Festival: Ocean Isle Beach, NC

With food ranging from oysters to BBQ and pizza to desserts, you will not be lacking in treats to try. Specialty beverages to accompany your choices abound. Enjoy a lineup of great beach music bands, as well as arts& crafts. This festival has something for everyone! The festival will be held rain or shine.
