The Shipwreck Sprinternational Triathlon is taking place at 10 a.m. on November 3rd at nearby Holden Beach, NC. Join in the event to finish your summer season in Holden Beach at this Sprinternational distance event. A new event that's not to be missed, this event will feature a 1000 meter ocean swim, a 30 kilometer flat and fast bike and a 8 kilometer flat and fast run. Register early to take advantage of a great early bird price. Registration is open until October 31, 2012.

It’s not too late to plan a Sunset Beach vacation in North Carolina for this summer. We have plenty of open reservations on our beautifully decorated rooms between now and end of season but they won’t last forever. While you’re here enjoying your Sunset Beach vacation you might want to consider entering the nearby Cape Fear Flounder Classic fishing tournament.

The tournament will be start at 5 p.m. Friday July 27, 2012 – 8 p.m. on Saturday Jul. 28, 2012. Event begins at 4433 Long Beach Rd, Southport, NC 28461. This is a flounder fishing tournament for boats only. Entry fee cost $100.00. Registration begins at the chamber from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Monday through Friday from July 11 through July 27. Registration at the marina will be on July 27 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Lines in the water will be on Saturday from 7 AM until 4 PM with weigh-in starting at 3 p.m. and an awards ceremony at 6 p.m. Guaranteed CASH Prizes isn't a bad reason to take up flounder fishing during the Cape Fear Flounder Classic at the Southport Marina on July 28th. Course architect Tim Cate, who also did Tiger's Eye, believes that Leopard's Chase will turn out even better than Tiger's Eye and that golfers will be lining up to sample the next great cat at Ocean Ridge.
