A Spooky Night at the Museum

The Museum of Coastal Carolina invites you to A Spooky Night at the Museum tonight. Wear your costumes and get in the Halloween spirit! The event will be held from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012.

This event features indoor trick-or-treating for children. There will be several different booths with games, candy and lots of fun! ?The Museum of Coastal Carolina is located at 21 East Second Street in Ocean Isle Beach, NC.

The museum will be closed during the day on October 25; doors will open at 5:30 for Spooky Night at the Museum. Member and non-member admission for Spooky Night at the Museum is $5 per person. On other days, regular all-day museum admission is $8 for adults, $6 for seniors and students, $4 for children ages 3-4, and free for ages 2 and under, with free admission for museum members. Don’t forget about the NC Festival by the Sea this weekend. The festival kicks off with a parade down the Holden Beach Causeway. Arts and Crafts vendors are open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday and 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday. For the competitive sort, there is a horseshoe tournament and a sandcastle building contest. Children can enjoy face painting, huge kites flying overhead and the children’s rides and amusements. There is live musical entertainment both days at Holden Beach’s Pavilion. This is a free event.

The 31st Annual NC Oyster Festival will be at Ocean Isle Beach on October 15-16, 2011, on Sat. 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. and Sun. 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. It will feature live entertainment, arts and crafts vendors, festival food, a road race, kid's area, North Carolina Oyster Shucking Championships and an Oyster Stew Cook-off. The entertainment line-up includes some great bands performing each day of the festival. Headliner Josh Kelley will be performing Saturday the 15th at 4 p.m. Come join us and find out for yourself why the oyster is so treasured by Brunswick County Natives. Price Range: $5.00 / Children 8 and under are admitted free.

The last full weekend in October – the 29th and 30th — the Holden Beach Merchants Association hosts the very popular “North Carolina Festival by the Sea.” This 2 day event is kicked off with a parade down the Holden Beach causeway. This is the only day of the year that you can walk across the Holden Beach bridge and each year several hundred take that high altitude stroll to stake out the perfect spot to view the parade.

Arts and Crafts vendors are open from 9:00 am to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday and 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday. You’ll want to plan to be onsite for at least a couple of meals and a snack or two, just to sample a tiny portion of the food on hand.
